Founded in 1996 in Gurgaon, India, Sankalp Welfare Society stands as a beacon of transformative education and community empowerment. Initiated by Commander K K Choudhary and the late Mrs. Pushpa Indernath, what began as a modest roadside school with just 30 children has flourished into a thriving educational hub.
To date, we have proudly supported over 10,000 students in their journey from primary to higher education.
OUR FOUNDATION
Established in 1996, Sankalp Welfare Society was founded through the vision of Commander K K Choudhary and the late Mrs. Pushpa Indernath. What began as a humble roadside school in Gurgaon with 30 children and a single blackboard has grown into a well-established primary school dedicated to empowering underprivileged children through education.
Driven by the belief that education is the cornerstone of empowerment and societal growth, Sankalp has nurtured the minds of over 10,000 children. The school focuses on providing foundational literacy, numeracy, and holistic development to first-generation learners. Upon completing their primary education, students are integrated into mainstream neighborhood schools, ensuring a seamless transition.
Sankalp’s commitment extends beyond primary education by offering scholarships for university-level courses to deserving students, helping them achieve their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society.

Sankalp is dedicated to ensuring that education reaches every child, especially those from underprivileged and migrant backgrounds. We believe that no child should be left behind in the quest for knowledge. Our network of volunteers, comprising professionals from diverse sectors, is pivotal in delivering educational programs and scholarships that open doors and create opportunities for the less fortunate.

SUCCESS STORIES
Transforming lives with education, resilience, and dreams realised at Sankalp.
Sulekha, a first-generation student from a low-income background, completed her primary education at Sankalp and received a scholarship through the Sankalp Vidyarthi Program to pursue a BCA degree. She has also completed a one-year course in Aviation, Hospitality, Tourism, and Management, driven by her passion for becoming an Airline Crew member. Despite challenges, Sulekha and her sister, Meera, now support their family with a combined income of ₹45,000, inspired by their mother, Marjina, who overcame hardships to prioritize their education.
Unstoppable Spirit
Nysa, a dedicated learner from a family that relocated from Manipur to Gurgaon 10 years ago, studied in Class 5 at Sankalp School before joining DPS Shiksha Kendra through the Sankalp Vidyarthi Programme. When her parents struggled to afford school fees during the pandemic, Sankalp provided her with a fresh start. Nysa loves spending time in the library, reading, and watching Korean shows. She dreams of mastering English and returning to her village to teach and empower other girls, inspired by her desire to create a brighter future for her community.
Bright Future
Ananya, a bright Class 5 student at Sankalp School, has been a part of the Sankalp family since Grade 1. Through Sankalp's support, she receives free education, uniforms, books, and mid-day meals. One of her fondest memories is celebrating Independence Day with the Air India team, who inspired her to dream big. Ananya aspires to become a doctor and hopes to travel by plane one day, driven by her ambition to make a difference in the world.

OUR PROGRAMMES
Educational & social development
We offer a variety of programs tailored to enhance the educational and social development of our students. Our Primary Programme, located in DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon, is designed to prepare students for formal education, featuring a low student-to-teacher ratio and integration of technological aids for enriched learning experiences.
Beyond primary education, our Vidyarthi and Senior Vidyarthi Programmes support students through secondary education and vocational training, respectively, helping them become self-sustaining individuals.
The impact of Sankalp extends beyond individual students, touching entire communities. By providing scholarships, health care, and essential supplies, we strive to remove barriers to education that many children face.
Our comprehensive support system ensures no child is left behind, reflecting our belief in education as a fundamental right and a means of breaking the cycle of poverty. Through collaborative efforts, including partnerships with local businesses and professional volunteers, Sankalp continues to advocate for sustainable educational practices and community empowerment.
